Just moments after taking the title of World Champions for the first time in Houston franchise history, Astros shortstop, Carlos Correa stopped his interview to surprise his girlfriend and propose. While on microphone on Fox, he said of the winning the series, “It’s one of the biggest accomplishments of my life, and right now I want to take another big step in my life.” He then pulled out a ring from his pocket, knelt down, and said, “Daniella Rodriguez, will you make me the happiest man in the world? Will you marry me?”
The 2016 Miss Texas USA was too shocked to speak at first but eventually said yes and the two kissed with stunned onlookers nearby. It was a beautiful moment and a perfect end to the day for Correa. He brought the ring to the ballpark and had it in his locker at Dodger Stadium. Before heading onto the field, he told Astros clubhouse manager Carl Schneider to go get it for him. “I’m like, I don’t want to jinx it, but if we get these three outs, bring me my ring, make sure you don’t lose it,'” Correa said.
