Houston Mayor Hoping for a Theme Park
There’s a vast field across NRG Stadium that once housed one of Houston’s most beloved attractions. Since Astroworld closed in 2005, the city has not had a source of entertainment of a similar caliber. Although there are a couple of waterparks around the area, mayor Sylvester Turner believes there should be permanent attractions in the city to not only bring in tourism, but to entertain local families year-round. Mayor Turner hopes that there will be a theme park “to complement everything else” Houston has to offer by the time he leaves his office. Here’s to keeping our fingers crossed for the future of family fun in the 4th largest city in the country.
