World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest at NRG Park
Friday, March 3rd and Saturday March 4th
What better way to Kick off the rodeo festivities than with this barbecue contest and festival. More than 250 teams will compete to win and while most tents are invite-only, visitors can enjoy various public venues, including The Garden, Rockin’ Bar-B-Que Saloon, and the Chuck Wagon. Times vary & Tickets can be purchased online and include one-day admission into NRG Park, a complimentary sliced barbecue beef sandwich plate, access to live music areas, and admission to the carnival. Downtown Rodeo Parade
Saturday, March 4th at 9:00 am
Come join other enthusiastic spectators as decorative floats intermingle with thousands of men and women on horseback and fill the streets with hoof beats and marching bands for the Rodeo in Downtown. The parade route will begin at Bagby and Walker. This event is free to attend.
Art Swap at Lawndale Art Center
Saturday, March 4th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
Artists are invited to bring artwork to trade with other artists, collectors, and appreciators at Lawndale Art Center. Enjoy refreshments from topo chico while you get creative on ways to swap your art. This event is free & All trades are final.
DogPop Market at Yuppie Dog
Saturday, March 4th from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm
DogPop Market presents a new Monthly market hosted by yuppie dog daycare. Every first Saturday, dogpop will bring together artisans and pop-up businesses and will feature a different DJ each month, as well as different food trucks and food vendors, other live music, beer and wine. Each month the event will benefit a different rescue group. You wont want to miss out on an awesome night of shopping and more! This event is free to attend
