Bill O’Reilly Fired from Fox News After Numerous Sexual Harassment Claims
After more than 20 years on television, Bill O’Reilly, host of The O’Reilly Factor has been fired from Fox News. Throughout his time at the network, many women had complained of his unwanted sexual advances and retaliation when they refused sex with him. Fox repeatedly stood by him and had to reach settlements totaling 13 million dollars. However, more than 50 advertisers got fed up with O’Reilly’s reputation and abandoned his show. Last July, the former CEO of Fox, Roger Ailes was also forced to resign when multiple women accused him of of sexual harassment, exposing the misogynistic culture of the company.
O’Reilly is currently on vacation to meet the Pope in the Vatican and will be replaced by Tucker Carlson at his on-air time slot. It is not known whether or not there will be a farewell episode to end the show.
